The 5th International Data Power Conference is set to take place from Sept 4 to Sept 6 online and in-person at the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore, India & the University of Graz, Austria. The conference “hosts critical reflections on data’s power and the social, political, economic and cultural consequences of data’s increasing presence in our lives, workplaces, and societies.”
Aging in Data is supporting the participation of more than 10 AiD researchers and students, who will present on panels including “Data Harms and Aging in Canada” and “Growing Old With and Through Data: Situating Data Practices in Later Life”.
AiD Director Kim Sawchuk and collaborator Eric Craven have also been invited to give a keynote presentation at the conference, entitled “Tales from the Data Swamp: older adults speak”.
