In the second episode of Wrinkle Radio, podcast host Dr. Sally Chivers googles the term aging. Just aging. And yet her very first search result, the Mayo Clinic, correlates aging with health. Chivers argues that this framing is misleading – there is more, much more, to aging than health issues and so much of it is good.

Intrigued? Then you might want to tune into Wrinkle Radio. Over the course of the four episodes that have been released, Chivers and her guests touch on different facets of aging – from going grey to rethinking our understanding of mortality. Dr. Chivers is a professor of English at Trent University, and she brings this perspective to the podcast. Storytelling is central to Wrinkle Radio as Chivers and her guests tease out the human stories that guide their research.

Wrinkle Radio is partially funded by the Aging in Data project, of which Dr. Chivers is a co-applicant. As such, listeners can expect current and future episodes to tackle questions of aging and communication technologies, as well as the role data and algorithms play both in shaping our experience of aging and perpetuating ageist stereotypes. All of this and more in under 30 minutes!

New episodes of the podcast are released monthly. You can tune into Wrinkle Radio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and VoiceEd.
